Bringing Science Out of the Lab & Into the Bar

Sundays are for science & cocktails 🍸🔬

Our monthly Chemistry Club happens on Sundays and pairs women scientists and bartenders for custom cocktails and combustable conversations.

These simple afternoons together are some of my favorites even though I wouldn't consider myself science-minded. I am just insanely curious.

As a kid I was often told that science wasn't for girls. So I shied away from studying it even though my happiest places were in a tree reading or in the planetarium dreaming. I'm sure that story might resonate with many of you.

So I'm fixing that! We're going to discover the stories behind the science and the women studying it.

My goal is to make science accessible. No PowerPoints. No acronyms. Just a bunch of people talking about the mysteries of the universe and drinking cocktails.* (We can't be too serious!)

So far this year we've talked about the intersection of art & science, the science of concussions, and the disappearing Arctic permafrost. And we're not done! Here’s what’s coming up:
.
🍸 August 18: Urban forestry with Dr. Asia Dowtin of MSU (tickets)
🍸 September 22: Interstellar dust and origins of life with Dr. Lia Corrales of University of Michigan (tickets)
🍸 October 13: Save the Date
🍸November 17: Save the Date

*We always have non-alcoholic drinks, too!
